Overview

The Target Entry configuration is where you enter sales goals for a specific Business Unit. The sales goals are monthly and are broken down by:

  • Category
  • Dollar Amount
  • Units Sold

The Targets can also be further broken down by either by Service Provider with specific date parameters as you proceed through the process.

Configuring a Target Entry

The Business Units, Date, and Category drop-down lists at the top of the page are used to display existing Target Entries within those specific parameters. To display an existing Target, select a parameter in any or all of the drop-down lists and click Apply Filter. The Target data will display in the bottom section of the page.

The Target Entry Wizard will take you through the four (4) steps of adding new Targets into your system.

To Add a New Target Entry:

  1. From the Launch Pad, click the System Configuration icon in the left navigation panel.
  2. In the Financial section, select Target Entry.
  3. Click Add New Target. Step 1 of the Wizard displays over the grayed out Target Entry page.
  4. Select a Business Unit from the drop-down list.
  5. Select a Category from the drop-down list.
    • Membership Sales
    • Non-Dues Revenue (e.g. items, products)
    • Service Redemptions (e.g. PT redemption)
    • Usage (Check-Ins into the Business Unit)
  6. Enter a Target either in Units and/or in Total Dollar Amount.
    • Enter the Target goal in Total Number of Units in the Units field e.g. "100" new memberships for that month.
    • Enter the Target goal Total Dollar Amount in the Currency field.
    • Select a currency (US Dollars or Euros) in the Currency drop-down list.
  7. Select a Target Month from the drop-down list. This list extends out TWO (2) Years only. At this point, the Do You Want to Distribute the Target Further radio buttons will activate.
  8. If you would like to copy an existing Target, select the Copy from Existing Targets check box and then select the month you would like to copy from the adjacent drop-down list.
  9. The Do You Want to Distribute the Target Further radio buttons default to Yes.
    • If you select No, the Finish button activates. Click the Finish button and the Target Entry will be saved and added automatically.
    • If you select Yes, click the Next button to go to Step 2 of the wizard.

  10. In Step 2 of the Wizard, select the day(s) and/or date(s) of your Targets in the Select Day(s)/Date(s) section.
    • If you would like to select a specific date, click that date in the calendar. Repeat this for multiple dates.
    • If you would like to select a specific day of the week, select the corresponding check box to the right of the calendar.
    • If you select the All check box, all of the days of the month will be selected i.e. the Target goals will be on a daily basis for that month.
  11. After you make your day/date selections, the dates will populate the Date column fields in the Enter Target Values section. The Target Unit and Target Currency column fields will be blank.
    • Click anywhere in the appropriate date line to manually adjust the Target Units and Target Currency. Make your adjustments in the row editor] and click the Update button.
    • To automatically distribute the Targets, click the Distribute Evenly button. This will automatically distribute the Target Units and Currency evenly across the selected dates based on the totals you entered in Step 1.
  12. The Do You Want to Distribute the Target Further radio buttons default to Yes.
    • If you select No, the Finish button activates. Click the Finish button and the Target Entry will be saved and added automatically.
    • If you select Yes, click the Next button to go to Step 3 of the wizard.

  13. In Step 3 of the Wizard, select the Target Type (Membership Type or Employee) from the drop-down list. These are hard coded values and can not be altered.
    • If you select Membership Type, this further distributes the Targets by Membership Type and the types are added to the Enter Target Values section (middle). Click anywhere in the appropriate row and enter a Target Value for each Membership Type or click the Distribute Evenly button. This will automatically distribute the Target Units across each Membership Type based on the total you entered in Step 1.
    • If you select Employee, this further distributes the Targets to individual Employees/Staff Members who are assigned these Targets.
    • Select a Source(s) from the drop-down list. Sources are the Staff Members with a Work Role to sell these items or perform these tasks. Select the check box of each individual or select the All check box to select all of the Staff Members in the list and click the Add button to the right of the field. The names will display in the Enter Target Values section.

    • You can them manually enter each individual's Target Unit (see above) or click the Distribute Evenly button. This will automatically distribute the Target Units across each selected Staff Member based on the total you entered in Step 1.
  14. The Do You Want to Distribute the Target Further radio buttons default to Yes.
    • If you select No, the Finish button activates. Click the Finish button and the Target Entry will be saved and added automatically.
    • If you select Yes, click the Next button to go to Step 3 of the wizard.

  15. Step 4 of the Wizard gives you the ability to view the Target Units per week for each Staff Member. These records are for viewing ONLY and can not be edited. Select the Source Name from the drop-down list of the Staff Member you wish to view (the list defaults to the first name on the list from Step 3).
  16. After you have reviewed all of the Sources, click the Finish button.

  17. The Target will be added to the Business Unit you selected in Step 1 of the Wizard.
